Who Knows Who Cares by Local Natives
I hate those “CELEBRITIES ARE JUST LIKE YOU!” features in tabloid magazines. It’s like, NO SHIT THEY BUY GROCERIES.
I’ve been seeing that “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster, as well as other versions of it (such as the face palm inducing “Keep Calm and Drink Vodka”) for some time now. It was so widespread that I dismissed it as cliche, and didn’t think much of it. However, right now, during a moment of stress, it popped into my head and finally hit home for me. Because it was exactly what I needed to do at the moment, and at any other moment when I’m feeling overwhelmed-as I have been constantly lately. It hit home because I realized how true it is: The only, only solution to feeling like something’s too difficult, too terrible, too immense to handle; is to keep going at it. Quitting or simply not doing something isn’t an option most of the time. And even when it is, it’s rarely the right choice. The only thing to do is to pause, calm down, continue on, and deal with it. Or, as someone cleverly phrased and then popularized immensely: Keep calm and carry on.
